Basic Obedience

Basic obedience is about laying a foundation of good manners and creating a reliable companion. Group classes are great for socialization and practicing focus in a distracting environment. We will go over cues such as “sit, down, wait, come, go to place” and address problems like jumping up, nipping, chewing, digging, barking, and potty training.

Start Dates (Saturdays):

  • Group classes suspended at this time, please contact for more information or to be added to the wait list!

Reactive Dog Lessons

Reactive lessons are primarily about safety and learning how to redirect and prevent aggressive or fearfully reactive behaviors. The course is most ideal for dogs with leash reactivity. We will work to create reliability and predictability during tense or high energy situations.

We use balanced training methods, so the focus is on positive reinforcement until correction is needed, then we move up the scale of adversity from the lowest level to find an ethical but effective correction. The theory of operant conditioning is our favorite training philosophy because it creates opportunities for the dogs to think for themselves and make active decisions about their actions and thought process. We get to focus on the positive, what the dogs are doing right, allowing them to feel good about themselves and enjoy the work of training which is a contagious joy that even the owners will feel.
